I give up.

Today I gave up on Google's Chrome browser for Macs. I got waaay too many sad faces telling me that a page was not loading. Ironically enough most of those pages were Google doc pages or Gmail pages.

One of the things I found weird was that in order to use the updated version of our mobile POS system we needed to download something called Google Tools. This only seems to work with Firefox though.

So, I gave up on Chrome and I am about to give up on my Droid phone. Ever since the new Android OS update my battery drains to near zero every time I send so much as a text message. And please don't tell me about my background apps, these stupid things come to life on their own with no way to turn them off save for yet ANOTHER battery-draining app that most people say you do not need.

I like the Google maps gps, but even being constantly plugged in the phone seems to drain more power than it charges back into the battery. I cannot afford a new phone, so I am stuck with this overly heavy piece of shit for the time being. But, yeah, I give up.

Much like Max Weinberg gave up on Conan O'Brien. Not sure why Weinberg is not following Conan to TBS, maybe he got tired of hearing E Street Band jokes. We discussed this at lunch today and, as usual anytime Conan O'Brien gets mentioned the talk turned to how he got screwed by NBC.

You know what I say? Would someone out there PLEASE SCREW ME THE WAY CONAN O'BRIEN GOT SCREWED!!!! PLEASE, I AM BEGGING YOU TO FUCK ME THE WAY CONAN GOT FUCKED!!!!

Seriously, Conan O'Brien got treated like shit, but he came out of his ordeal with NBC smelling like a rose, sitting on a HUGE chunk of cash, and with broadcast networks begging him to come work for them. I would take that in a fucking heartbeat.

You know what getting screwed is? Having to spend thousands of dollars having to defend myself from baseless trademark claims. You know what else getting screwed is, spending time and money building an artists brand only to have that person give you a big middle finger when the going looks like it might get tough and having them take off for greener pastures. THAT'S getting screwed. Or how about paying all of your bills on time then getting told that you kept your credit clean for no fucking reason because your lines of credit are now all gone. THAT'S getting screwed.

So, I will take the "screwing" that Conan O'Brien got any fucking day of the week. And then I will post to my Blogger account using my Android phone and read your comments via my Chrome browser because another way of getting screwed is having companies like Google or Apple or Microsoft or HP shove useless, poorly tested shit down our throats and expect us to make this crap part of our professional lives. These guys basically ask us all to PAY to be Beta testers of their crappy products so that one day down the line some of this awful offal might actually work.

And yeah, I am in a bad mood. All I want from life is one browser that will work for everything, a phone that holds a charge for more than half a day and to get screwed the way Conan O'Brien got screwed.

Is that too much to ask?

Orders a pitcher of what ales mankind and sits down with Dan.

Le sigh. Sorry to hear you trusted google on the chrome thing. I loaded it up the first day it was up, took it for a ride and found it be in alpha, not even worth the being considered in a testable release.

I Used to work doing game design. Beta testing was a hobby I quickly gave up. It always comes down to working for free, not being listened to and in the long run being used like a panama canal digging crew.

I would say on the positive side that I truly enjoy Firefox just for its modular services. Also it is as of now the single most supported browser online. Even the mighty IE is nipping at its heels.

Really I think Google gave up on Chrome about 6 months ago. Any updates or hooha that they release is more of vestigial gesture of competition. They are a pretty smart company and the one thing they seem to know is when its time to focus energy where its best spent.

Surprisingly enough I sometimes enjoy using Safari on my PC. Its fast clean and has given me no hassles. Of course its overall functionality for additional tasks is limited for overall quick browsing it rules.

Remember Wittgenstein's Theory on unified systems? He started off trying to unify things and came so close he realized the wrong sided thinking of doing that very thing. Our species and life itself thrives only in an atmosphere of complex diversity. To try and single out any one system as True, destroys all the joy and wonder of actual understanding.

As complex and over written as that is all things biological and philosophical can be applied to the inorganic and social structures of our modern world.

This is something have recently been working on. I would honestly like to know what you think about this. Try it first, consider issues in the world or even in your life. Then think of them as if they are organic biological entity's. Cells, virus, antibodies, parasites, all the things that can and do affect a humans biology.

I personally have been shocked to find just how organic everything is, and in seeing this the solutions to the issues at hand are readily available in the juxtapositions of how we deal with these organisms on a treatment level.

I wonder which android phone you have btw. I have just started using a HTC android 2.1. It, like my iphone and most "smart phones" have shit for power usage if you are a regular user of services. To counter this I purchased a http://assets2.smartphoneexperts.com/images/product_images/accessories/additional_images/4130/large/1.jpg

Not the finest or best solution but it has saved my ass as a heavy SmrtPhone user. Also one thing I have done which has increased my over all battery time by almost half was turning of my 3G and especially my network wireless connection when I am not specifically using it. Those 2 things drain HUGE amounts of juice constantly even when not being used at all. If they are on they are sucking your battery's tit.

I have a Motorola Droid, which I have had for some time. I will give the wireless connection thing a try as I turned it on as a feature but perhaps did not turn it off.

Yeah I recently was doing some research on battery life on PC,s .that's personal communicaters. Anyhoo, iPhone battery was a nightmare for me until I got in the habit of turning off my wireless and setting my push functions to about 45 minutes.

Something I just learned this last couple days is the e industry expectant life of these batterys. No company will say outright how long theirs are good for. But I found a decent study on it that gives a decent idea of when the bAttery should be replaced.

So you should get up to 350 - 400 full cycle charges on your bAttery . After that you have pushed it to the end of any sort of reliability on holding its charge.

I figure for most people this would run almost until they upgrade. About a year and a half. You sound like you use yours like I do though and that would mean you get about 8 months. I just replaced the battery in my old iPhone which is going to my GF.

I had forgotten what a new battery was like. I sat ducking around on that thing for over 2 hours and my freshly charged new battery barely showed any power loss.

I've had good luck with Chrome. Are you perhaps using the Dev Channel? I talked w/some folks and they say that the Dev Channel gets new features sooner, but is crashier. I use the stable channel, and it's been working pretty well.

Is everything in the squarespace trial available in the standard plan? for example, slideshows, gallery etc. In weebly's starter package, the slideshow isn't included.

Please let me know if the options I currently see in the trial version will still be available after purchasing the standard plan.

Thank you
